ICT: How does a computer operate?
In order for a computer to work, you would first require the following components:
~Motherboard
~Hardrive
~Disc drive
~Power supply
~CPU
~RAM
The Hardware of a computer operates and processes information in this order:
Hardrive -> RAM -> CPU
The hardrive is where the information of the computer files are stored.
The RAM controls the speed of the computer and the speed of the RAM is affected by the number of downloads and installations in the computer (games, movies, videos etc.). The CPU processes commands such as moving files and typing, Every single command causes a rotation in the CPU system.
Operating systems are also a important aspect of how a computer operates. Mac OSX, Windows, Linux and Ubunto are all operating systems. They affect the overall software of the computer, the computer would be deemed useless without the operating system. Without the operating system, software which gives the computer its uses (internet and word prossesing) cannot be installed and put to use. The operating system provides the organisation and the useage of the hardware and softeware.
